What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Prezi: Prezi is an online based slide share presentation tool, the tool acts as a more interactive and versatile approach to online presentations, instead of using storage space these documents are saved in the online database ‘clouds’ meaning they are also easy to share with other people. I used this particular app to create a Prezi slide presentation for one of my previous evaluation questions, the app itself has allowed me to present my magazines construction process in a professional way.

Issue: Issue is a free electronic publishing app for magazines, catalogues and newspapers. Issue is featured for its publishing platform making brands available that would not be possible without the internet and its use of sharing. I used issue to produce documents for my work, the app helped me to produce elements for my blog that have allowed me and the reader of my work to flick through the pages – making it easier to read, as well as giving the real of reading a real magazine or booklet.

Survey Monkey: Survey Monkey is a web platform that make easy opportunities of sharing web surveys and questionnaires online and worldwide. Throughout the process of constructing and researching for this magazine I have learnt how to produce a thorough and clear survey, whilst learning how to produce a questionnaire that can be published and distributed to the public. Using Survey Monkey has also given me the opportunity to analyse results in a more precise way, allowing me to create the magazine I had designed, whilst incorporating the survey results.

Flipsnack: Flipsnack is a software online that acts very similar to Prezi, it works online saving your data without taking up valuable space. The app is specifically designed to allow you to convert PDF files into Flash documents in a digital flipbook style. I used this app on my blog, it gave me more of a template to show my work on, rather than just posting it on a word document and uploading it straight away.

Blogger: Blogger is a free website that allows you to publish your content in stylized templates. I have learned how to use blogger throughout this process, and this was something that was completely new to me as I’m used to using WordPress (a similar app that uses a different theme of navigation). The blog I created with blogger is what I have been publishing my work on, creating the opportunity for me to share my content digitally.

Photoshop: Photoshop is an image enhancing software that uses specifically designed tools that create stunning outcomes. The software is something that I am very comfortable using, so it wasn’t too much of a challenge at the initial start of this design process on my magazine.  This has been my main use of software that I have used, as it has been the foundation for all of the pages I designed in my publication, along the way I have also become more versatile and I have learnt new things.
